2018 Highlights

In this past year we focused more on becoming a platform for internationalization for our members by both enabling our stakeholders and providing relevant business opportunities or matchmaking.

Our strategy to become a platform for internationalization was one of the pillars our cluster was founded on. Since Emanuela MODORAN became our CEO in April 2018, under her leadership we managed to create and find the best opportunities for our members and in the same time support the ICT environment by starting the Smart Alliance Academy. We promoted innovation, ethics and cooperation, as these are the values we stand for, and soon after, two major international associations partnered with us: IKT Telemark, one of the biggest Norwegian ICT cluster and ROSABA – Romanian South African Business Association.

We started new projects like Innovative Morning, where members in search of input and solutions are able to collaborate with other members of the cluster to find solutions together. Another new project is People of Smart Alliance, a series of small interviews designed to promote high-performing young employees that choose to be part of innovative SMEs.

This year we organized two teambuildings – one meant to help our members know each other better, as we had multiple new companies become part of our cluster and another which involved 110 employees of our members to work together and renovate a school in Tohanul Nou, Brasov County.

And last but not least, we organized one of the best B2B events focused on Romanian Innovation – the Smart Alliance Innovation Summit. We gathered more than 500 C-Level managers and entrepreneurs in what was “the most full of business opportunities event” they attended in the past years. With 14 chambers of commerce and embassies, along with innovation solutions presented by our members and their partners, we focused on creating the best networking experience while presenting the most innovative and cost effective ICT solutions.
