Tremend, a local company with global ambitions, selected for the BVB League
The Romanian company Tremend, specializing in consultancy and software engineering solutions, is for the second time in the exclusive club of the 15 most innovative Romanian companies selected for the Bucharest Market Exchange League. At the beginning of this year, Tremend entered BVB’s Made in Romania project, which aims to identify and promote top Romanian companies with the greatest potential in today’s global market.
“We are delighted to be placed for the second year in a row in the BVB League. Not only is it a great honor, but it also reaffirms our presence in the avant-garde of the Romanian companies. It acknowledges that the Romanian IT&C industry is competitive not just at a local and regional level, but at a global one as well.” – Marius Hanganu, partner and co-founder of Tremend.
Tremend’s position in BVB League confirms once again the remarkable results achieved over the last couple of years, namely the best entry position for a Romanian company in Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Central Europe 2016, or a place amongst the fastest growing European companies in Inc. 5000 and Financial 1000. The credit for these achievements goes to the strong software engineering team and the organizational culture, standing proof for the engineering DNA of the company founded by Ioan Cocan and Marius Hanganu. Tremend prides on over 400 high-grade projects under its belt for major telecom operators, automotive companies, retailers and banking institutions on three continents. The co-founders used their Silicon Valley experience to demonstrate that a high performance technological business can be successfully developed in Romania. These achievements racked up €6 million in revenue for Tremend in 2017, a 40% growth from 2016.
The company employs the most innovative technologies — AI, IoT, Machine Learning and Microservices — but beyond these technologies and numbers, last year’s most important achievement was the acquisition of 648 Group, a US-based company that delivers premium web and mobile solutions. This is just the first step in Tremend’s expansion strategy, as the company aims to consolidate its position in the UK, US and Scandinavian markets in the short to medium term.
