Smart Alliance – Innovation Technology Cluster and Omega Trust strengthened their partnership with UTCB and Faculty of Automation and applied informatics

On 1st of October, Smart Alliance Smart Alliance – Innovation Technology Cluster and Omega Trust strengthened their partnership with UTCB (Universitatea Tehnică de Construcții București) by welcoming their students in the new year of college at Faculty of Automation and applied informatics.

Having its roots in the “School for Land Surveyors” and in the “The School of Bridges, Roads and Mines” founded in Bucharest in 1818 and 1867, respectively, UTCB’s actual basic structure was established in 1948. It is the only Romanian university entirely devoted to education in civil engineering and the related fields, having a long history of successful contributions in Romanian research and education.

“Our partnership with UTCB is extremely important, as we are in a continuous search of improvement when it comes to prepare the future innovators of the Romanian ICT market. The Faculty of Automation and applied informatics is one of the most important partners when it comes to develop the best context for students to develop their skills and apply what they learn.” Said Emanuela MODORAN, CEO of Smart Alliance – Innovation Technology Cluster.

This year our cluster welcomed several students enlisted at Faculty of Automation and applied informatics to be part of a project destined to help students be more prepared for the ICT market. We had 50 positions available inside 6 companies: Entex, Omega Trust, New Business Dimensions, Reporting Center, Wing Leading Edge and QWERTY Solutions.

“We were extremely happy with the students that came in our company for an internship this summer. Their capabilities exceed our expectations and we want to continue our partnership with UTCB. Their lack of experience is replaced with a desire to learn more and try new things, regardless of the field they work in. We welcomed freshmans’, sophomores’, and students in senior year, and even if the latter were more prepared than the firsts, we managed to adapt mainly because they came in wanting to learn, regardless of how much they thought they knew.” Said Ștefan GRIGORE, Head of Funding & Consultancy Department at Omega Consulting inside Omega Trust.

This partnership is part of Smart Alliance-Innovation Technology Cluster strategy for developing SMART Academy. SMART Academy is a Smart Alliance initiative that started from the need of member companies to attract and retain the human resources needed to develop sustainably and coherently. Moreover, the need for human resources is universally universal in the Romanian market; this is why, through this academy, Smart Alliance aims to train young people and provide them with the best possible experience in a team that promotes Romanian innovation. The primary goal is to make SMART Academy a launching pad for young students who are accepted and who at the end of the season will have the necessary experience to engage in both the cluster companies and other companies.
