The influence of technology on workflow in organizations

The evolution of the technology constantly influences the way the communication is done: is simple, instant and accesible to more and more people. You can send documents, videos and images from anywhere in the world, instantly, at minimum costs. The instruments that we now use can offer us the possibility to work from home or even have international collaborations. These new changes have place even within an organization, the workflow constantly evolving for the employees at a very fast rate.

The studies have shown that in Great Britain there are approximately 1 million people that are working online, from home. Eurostat statistics from 2015 have shown that less than 1% of the employees in Romania have the possibility to work from home, even occasionally. The local tendencies are growing to an unclear limit between time spent at work and personal time.

Annually thousands of innovative tools and software are created with the purpose to optimize the work processes. The companies’ representatives have a harder and harder task – to be up to date with the latest technologies that are fit for their industry and their organizational culture. According to Walden University College of Management and Technology, the communication through e-mail, instant messages or even social networks were among the most influential factors in every aspect of a business. The technological progress led to replacing memos or faxes with emails, phones and tablets, that facilitate work outside the office, while keeping the information in the cloud system.

Nathan Waterhouse, the founder of OI Engine, an innovative platform that is based on collaboration, will talk on 5th of October, in Bucharest, during the expo-conference Internet & Mobile World with the theme – global tendencies at work. The central point in his presentation is focused on creativity at workplace, in the context of fast shifting in technology. Matt Tucker, Harvard Business School, talks about IDEO and how this product successfully combines two of the most tools of the digital world: the crowd intelligence and the creative thinking process, offering new insights and money saving strategies for all the stakeholders.

James Bidwell, CEO Springwise, will talk at IMWorld on 5th of October about his work experience and about the collaborations he had with professionals from 190 states, having an unique perspective at a global scale about what innovation in organizations mean. Bidwell declared that: ”Springiwise team tests thousands of tools annually, all of them created with the sole purpose to make our life easier. Regardless, much of these tools make it harder for us to complete our activities and ask us for more time. We oftenly use Dropbox, Slack and Evernote for efficient collaborative work and Prezi for more attractive presentations. We receive ideas from 190 countries, it is very important that Springwise team to be more focused and efficient”

Daniele Fiandaca, co-founder of Creative Social, a global club that brings together brand leaders and creatives from all around the world, will present in the same day on the Marketing and Innovation stage at IMWorld. Daniele will talk about the subject of new technology platforms, artificial intelligence or neuroplasticity, and the impact that these platforms have on the business from the perspective of making a creative stimulating organizational culture for the employees.

Depending on the business priorities, the representatives of the companies can analyze the impact of these tools through their employee performance. On the other hand, like Springwise, it is very important that values of the company to be respected: the organization is member of 1% for the Planet, thus they donate 1% profit to environment issues. It is very important that the innovative work methods (recruiting through virtual reality or micro-offices in Hollands’ woods) to respect this indicator.

During this edition of Internet & Mobile World will participate over 130 companies with over 1,800 IT&C solutions from areas like: infrastructure, security, devices, IoT, digital marketing, e-commerce, business software and cloud solutions. For 2 days, 5-6 of October, 8,000 business representatives will find their adequate solutions for optimizing their work processes for their employees. They can schedule networking meetings through the app MyConnector and they can learn from the best practices presented by the speakers.
